Happy 25th Mom and Dad!

On April 21st, my parents celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. This past Saturday we celebrated with a little get together at my apartment with family and friends. Back in 1984, my parents chose peach and grey as their wedding colours which is funny because peach and grey is coming back in to style now! I had a blast looking through their wedding pictures and coming up with an updated '80s theme. Here are some photos of the day:

The cupcakes were from Cakes by Shelley and they were SO good. Thanks Shelley!

Blue Earth Organics - Organic Groceries in Winnipeg

Every time I go into Blue Earth Organics, I pester the owner with questions about green living. Clothes, cooking, makeup, I can really be quite nosy! She has a young child and so do I, so I really appreciate the perspective of another Mom. Last time I was in the store I gathered this list of the top five items to switch to organic from Breanne, owner of Blue Earth Organics:

1. Dairy. Organic dairy has no pesticides, added hormones or antibiotics.
2. Fruit. You can find a list of fruits to switch over at Delicious Organics.
3.Skin Care. As in, anything (soap, body wash, makeup, etc.) that touches your skin.
4. Meat.
5. Organic wine.

What foods do you eat organic? I'd love to hear your advice for what to eat and where to find it!

Our New Showit Website is Up

I know it's been quiet on the blog for the past couple of weeks, and I'm sorry but I was a little busy working on the new website and today I'm happy to say the new site is live! I hope you like it and would love to hear your feedback as we are still making little changes as they are needed. You will probably remember that this site is a Showit Site that I won in a contest on the Jasmine Star blog. If anyone else is thinking about using Showit I recommend them - It's a very easy program to work with and some of my very favourite websites were built with Showit.
